Christopher Newport University| Dr. Greenlee

During the first day of one of my most anticipated classes our professor asked us to raise our hand if we were Democrats or Republicans. Being a proud Republican myself, my professor noticed me right away waving my hand. He asked me to stand up and explain my views on gun rights. I told him that I believed in the 2nd amendment and believed individual gun laws should be up to the states. Obviously unhappy with my response, he asked me in a snarky reply “So, if Alabama wanted to vote to reinstate slavery you would support that?” as a way to try and shame me while the class laughed. Not only was his comparison of state rights completely incorrect and inappropriate, it made me hate the class altogether!

Arkansas Tech University |Professor Julie Schluterman

I took Intro to Sociology with Dr Schluterman. Throughout the semester, the class turned into a pro-welfare and anti-Republican bashing session. I knew to pass tests I had to answer questions in ways that I didn’t agree with. In her opinion, a person who was not born into wealth had zero chance to achieve it, and didn’t want to discuss the issue when students told her that their parents had once been poor and were now successful in their careers. She constantly talked about how important it was that we raise taxes on everybody, and didn’t want to listen to any other opinion. I got an A in the class because I kept my head low and kept my opinion to myself, but I’m sure other students were swayed by her biased teaching.

ABC NEWS: What It’s Like To Be A Conservative on a Liberal College Campus

When Luka Ladan started his freshman year at Vassar College in southeast New York, he started noticing a difference between himself and the majority of his classmates.

“We were talking about the upcoming election,” he said. “I was in a class talking about Republicans – Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush. Whenever a name was mentioned, one kid would snicker and then five to seven would just laugh at the name.”

TWITCHY.COM: #MyLiberalCampus: Left-wing bias and ‘diversity of thought’ on college campuses

Many Americans don’t seem to know just how far left most college campuses lean. Nor are they aware of the kind of propaganda and bigotry that conservatives encounter at these supposed bastions of “independent” learning and thinking. To highlight what many conservatives face on liberal campuses, the College Republican National Committee launched the #MyLiberalCampus hashtag for students to share their experiences.
